Grammy-nominated and platinum-certified, KJ Sawka is one of the most respected live drummers in the history of electronic music. Born in Seattle and drumming since age 12, he joined one of the biggest electronic bands on the planet — Pendulum — as their live drummer, performing on their landmark album Immersion and touring global arena stages worldwide.
Pendulum are not a small act. Three platinum albums. Over one million albums sold in the UK alone. A UK number one with Immersion. Headline slots at Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage, Wembley Arena, Download Festival, Reading and Leeds — drawing crowds of over 70,000. A headline performance at Ultra Music Festival Miami. KJ was behind the kit for all of it.
In 2025 Pendulum released Inertia — their first full studio album in 15 years — with KJ on drums. The legacy continues.
Beyond Pendulum, KJ co-founded the armored dubstep supergroup Destroid with Excision and Downlink, collaborated with Illenium, BT, Amon Tobin, Andy Summers of The Police, and Michael Shrieve of Santana, and built Impossible Records into a platform for forward-thinking electronic music. Over 30 years in — and still the most exciting drummer in the game.
